The client approached Vita Modular with a desire to extend their London home, seeking a modern and functional space that would seamlessly integrate with their existing property. The primary need was to create a larger, more versatile living area, specifically a new kitchen and dining space, while enhancing the overall aesthetic and value of their home. Vita Modular delivered a 16.3 sq/m extension, transforming the ground floor and incorporating high-quality finishes and features tailored to the client's vision.

The project involved the demolition of an existing conservatory to make way for a contemporary 16.3 sq/m home extension. A key challenge was to create a spacious and open-plan feel, which was achieved by incorporating a 4.2m aluminium bi-fold door system, replacing a smaller 3m allowance. This required additional structural steelwork to ensure a clear span. Another significant aspect was the flooring; the client opted for an uplift to herringbone flooring in the new extension, and the existing kitchen floorboards needed preparation and levelling before laying new LVT flooring3 The design focused on integrating modern elements while ensuring structural integrity and a high-quality finish throughout.
