Sutton Borough Council required a timely and efficient extension for a property in Carshalton. Vita Modular delivered a bespoke modular solution, providing a complete turnkey service from foundation to final finishes. The project showcased the speed and convenience of modular construction, with a structural steel system and modern render finish, all completed within a condensed timeframe to meet the council's needs.
For a property located in Carshalton, Sutton Borough Council identified the need for a compact extension. The primary challenge was to deliver the project with minimal disruption and on an accelerated timeline. Vita Modular was selected to provide a solution that bypassed the lengthy process of traditional construction.
The design centred around a 14.3 SQ/M modular unit built on a robust structural steel sub-frame. This off-site construction method significantly reduced on-site activity and allowed for a lead time of just 4-6 weeks. The foundation system chosen was galvanised steel ground screws, a method that is not only fast to install but also minimises groundwork and environmental impact.
The extension was finished externally with a modern silicon render system to seamlessly blend with the existing property. Internally, the space was completed with plasterboard walls and ceilings, standard flooring, and a comprehensive electrical package, making it ready for immediate use upon completion of the short 2-3 week installation period.
