Our client in London embarked on a project to create a large, open-plan living area by adding a 14.9m² rear extension and making significant structural alterations to their home. We delivered a stunning extension featuring composite cladding , two fixed skylights , and a major new structural opening to seamlessly blend the new with the old.

The primary goal of this London-based project was to create a spacious, open-plan living area by adding a 4.25m x 3.5m extension. A critical part of the brief was the creation of a new structural opening, complete with a steel beam, to connect the new extension to the existing house. Before construction could begin, the project required significant groundworks, including the removal of an existing patio, a concrete base, and a tree stump.
The extension was built using our robust structural steel frame system on ground screw foundations. The exterior was finished in stylish composite cladding. To ensure the new space was filled with natural light, two 900x600mm fixed skylights were installed in the roof , complementing the 3m wide aluminium doors/windows. Our team expertly handled the complex structural work, creating the large opening that defines the new integrated living space.
The client wanted to personalise the interior, so they arranged for their own flooring and skirting board installation, with deductions made to the final account to accommodate this. The heating system was upgraded from a standard panel heater to two smart vertical panel heaters for a more contemporary look. The project also included removing an existing window and expertly cladding the external infill, resulting in a cohesive and high-quality finish.
