The client sought to significantly expand their living space with a modern rear extension. The primary need was to create a larger, more functional area that seamlessly integrated with the existing property. Our solution delivered a 19.64m² rear extension, complete with high-quality finishes and tailored features to meet their vision.
The project in Bathford, involved constructing a 19.64m² rear extension to enhance the property's living area. Key challenges included integrating the new structure with the existing home while ensuring minimal disruption to the client. The design incorporated a structural steel frame for stability and a flat roof, providing a contemporary aesthetic.
Material selections focused on durability and visual appeal, including silicon render or cladding for the external walls and UPVC or Aluminium glazing to maximize natural light. Inside, the extension features painted walls and ceilings, along with new flooring designed to complement the overall scheme. An important structural modification was the creation of a 6.3m wide opening with a steel beam, which required temporary propping and careful making good around the new aperture.
Additional elements included a parapet wall alongside the existing study, boarding up and painting of a door to the study, and the supply and installation of a 2m x 1m Aluminium roof lantern, further enhancing the natural light within the new space
